After more than one hour waiting in line... Finally we get in. It's really worth it! You don't come here for the fine cuisine but for the entertainment. We really had fun... And our waiter James... My God... What a voice. He sang 'Music of the Night'. I don't understand why this guy is still busting tables, he should be the next Phantom on Broadway or even in Londen, Her Majesties Theater.

Probably one of the best dining experience ever.Such great talent and amazing singing. Beyond worth the wait in the lineup. The homer burger was something I would have never guessed tasted so good. Would totally order that again next time! If in NYC, a must stop for everyone.

This was a restaurant which I could say was the most entertaining I have ever been to. I was told that the waiters and waitresses sing but never would have imagined what wonderful voices they had. The food was excellent as well and the service was good even if your waiter was performing at the same time. Very busy restaurant which made it tight seating but everyone else in the establishment was having just as a good time as we were so you felt comfortable to who you might have been seated with. And finally it was my daughter's birthday so everyone in the building sang to her and was given cake and ice cream on top of it all. A very fun experience in which I highly recommend!

Love this place! Great entertainment from the servers who sing tunes to you as you eat. The food.... VERY TASTY and worth the price (which is of course a bit high... but it is NYC). I've been there twice. The first time it was a bit cramped, but if you are okay sitting somewhat close to strangers, the show is totally worth it!

My favorite restaurant in NYC! Always a blast. Amazingly talented performers that will surely impress you whether you are 6 or 60! Very inexpensive, excellent service and three levels of nonstop entertainment. Don't be afraid of the line to get in, it moves quickly.

Love this place. The singing wait staff was very talented and performed up close in a high energy diner. I highly recommend. Be prepared for food prices to be twice that of other diners in NYC. A tip bucket is circulated after a set of performances that is split equally.

We waited way too long to get into this place (almost 2 hours!!) But that was our own fault for going on a holiday weekend during school break. Wait was worth it in the end anyway! Really fun atmosphere, had a blast singing and cheering on the wait staff as they performed their hearts out. Very happy to hear that lots of them move on to Broadway shows, because that's truly where they belong.

There are a lot of places that will tell you "it's worth the wait.". This is the first place I've been to where I would agree that's true. Stood in the rain for 30 minutes muttering to myself about things I do for my wife. Left saying to myself, yeah I'd do that again. Amazing, talented, and just lovely human beings who have a way of making the patrons feel like they are the most important people in NYC.

A great place to go for good food and a show all in one. You are best to go outside of regular meal times as they take groups and are busy. The lineup to get in can be half a block long.

Turned out to be a lot better than I was expecting. The place itself is good, clean and well laid out, toward the north end of Time Square. The food is also very good with traditional US diner type food and the prices are not as bad I was expecting. The servers and singers are great. It seems like hard work but they are always smiling and seem to enjoy. You are essentially getting multiple Broadway performances while having dinner. Some of the singers are genuinely amazing.Highly recommend if you are in Times Square. There is usually a wait but the queue goes quickly and they seem well organised with the seating to keep it moving. I went on a Friday night and we only had to wait for less than 10 mins even though the queue was quite long.

Fantastic experience! Food priced at average New York price, a little on the expensive side, but you are getting entertained! Your waiter or waitress will all of a sudden join in singing and performing Broadway quality songs! It is so much fun! The atmosphere is great. The food and drinks are excellent!

My family and I had the chance to visit Ellen's Stardust Diner while on Vacation in NYC over spring break during 2019. At first, we were a bit weary because of the line of people wrapped around the building day and night, but we bit the bullet and went for it. I am grateful we did because we absolutely loved this place. The atmosphere and entertainment were fantastic, and my kids, who were 8 & 9 at the time, went nuts with excitement. In summary, this is a must-visit when traveling to NYC with kids. Great entertainment, decent food, and decent food prices for NYC anyway.

You know you are going to have to wait in a queue outside, it's NYC so you know it's going to be relatively expensive and unsophisticated food but honestly don't miss the opportunity, it's a great evening of fun and awesome entertainment. To have your waitress take your order then stand on a table to belt out an amazing rendition of a Phantom of the Opera masterpiece (which gives you goosebumps) and then a few minutes later bring your meal out - surreal. Fantastic evening and the food was tasty and not as expensive as you might have anticipated.

When here with my mom my cousin and her kids after going to radio City music Hall. What a great experience! The waiters not only serve you food but they perform songs as well. Our server, named Morgan, was serving us and also sang ACDC, and what's yours truly joined in on the singing!

One of the best and different places I ever experienced. All the servers and the owner, during everyone's stay and dining, makes song performances. They are all amazing and, during the show, they kindly pass a bucket to receive tips for their show. They don't accept the reservation and the place has always a considerable waiting line outside the diner. It's a must-go place in NYC.

You can't possibly have more fun at breakfast or lunch than an experience at Ellen's. The wait staff are all actors and actresses waiting tables between shows, and they regale the patrons with a non-stop stream of Broadway musical numbers. The food is good and the service is well done. How one sings and delivers an order simultaneously is beyond me, but they pull it off. If it is busy, the line forms outside to wait for a table, so plan accordingly based on the weather.

Food and entertainment was amazing! Your waitress or waiter will sing popular songs in between given amazing service. They do not do reservations nor give wait times so if there is a line outside just wait and they will get you in as soon as possible. I went at 8 pm on a Friday night and the line moved much quicker than I expected (25-30 minute wait). I had a party of 5. If you have a party of 2 you will get in even quicker.

An explosion of colors, sounds, and fun. Our server, Mustang Sally, sang a fantastic Christine from Phantom of the Opera during the evening. It's high energy with good food. I had a great time just soaking it in. I think getting a spot on the second floor overlooking the downstairs stage area maybe the best spot to take in the entertainment but it's enjoyable from pretty much any seat.

This is an awesome place! Food is good, prices typical for NYC, but the talent is WOW! The wait staff sing and perform. Great start for actors. The line goes around the block to get in, but moves it will take about 1-2 hours to get in, but worth it! Awesome place Ellen! Loved it.

Well well... As a show it is good. Most female voices played were amazing, really professional. Regarding the service... I felt a bit pressed like if you don't give tips you are just a strange person sitting there. The moderator asking for tips in a bucket (-.-) no way. Enough just paying $20 a burger with fries.

Worth the wait! We waited 30minutes on a Tuesday afternoon but it was the best food and entertainment! Loved the singers they were phenomenal! Hope they get to make their dreams come true on the broadway stage! The food was so delicious too and the MC was awesome! Totally recommend this if you are in the city it is a MUST DO. The only downside of our experience was that we sat so close to the strangers next to us (would’ve like a both or something not so close to them) but I understand because it was so busy!

One of the best place to have BF in NY. Must visit. Different than anything you tried. Food is great, staff fantastic. having BF while watching / listening potential future stars. What a grand idea. Most of the good restaurants in NY have queue to go in but this one had a massive queue on the day we went there. Having said that, it was worth it. If you are visiting NY then Stardust is a must go place. I have never seen anything like it anywhere I have been. Highly recommended. 5*****

Although we've eaten better food elsewhere I wouldn't complain about what we got. The performers were amazing singers and a few of them really got into the performances which was appreciated. They automatically add a 20% tip to your bill (which is fine) but then come around with a "donation bucket" and also encourage further tipping. Personally I'd prefer a small door charge instead of the awkward donation bucket.

Know what to expect and you'll enjoy. Michelin Star it ain't. But my cocktail was excellent. Go for the fun. And yes they pander for donations which are supposed to be for theater lessons for the staff. I guess you should never give up on a dream. They seat based on match btwn your party size and available table size, so don't get your knickers in a bunch if you get skipped a few times. Outside wait 15 to 30 min. Singles beware. The line manager skipped around me for 30 minutes. I assumed no seats at the bar. When he offered a couple behind me bar seats... well next thing I know 5 empty seats at the bar :-(

Lots of fun with the singing staff, very engaging. The food was ok and generous portions but it was quite pricey - burger w/ fries ($24), sandwich ($21) and Kids meal was ($16) fries and 4 pieces of mozzarella sticks (add $4.50 for the lemonade). A 20% tip is automatically added. The total with tax came to $84.All In all a bit pricey but you should go for the experience at least once.

First time there and it was a Sunday morning. No wait to be seated but the place filled up quickly. I had an Greek omelet and coffee. Food and service were good, but the price is a lot. Of course when you go here you're not paying for the food, you're paying for the experience. It's nice to enjoy a performance with your meal, so I don't mind the few extra dollars.

Same food but the waitstaff all had musical abilities and did continuous showtime songs... very impressive and we all had a very enjoyable time.... the food was, well, diner food

The servers are more concerned with entertainment than they are serving food. We waited in total about an hour before we left for zero service. The meals were outrageously priced for simple diner food, especially for children (ex. $2.75 up charge for the syrup on pancakes). Lacked cleanliness and spent more time on the mic marketing for donations to the servers than actually doing their job. Talented singers, but not the place to eat.

After we brought our daughter's to wicked we decided to stop by Ellen's and have an early dinner... I was skeptical waiting in line for an hour..... But when we left I would have waited 2 hours for all the fun we had. An absolutely amazing experience. .....and that's just the show all of these talented people put on. The food was amazing as well. The Belgian waffle was RIDICULOUS! Strangely enough the hot wings were some of the biggest and best I've ever had. (And I've been to the Anchor bar!) Great job guys. Can't wait to go back.....
